200+ Completed IPv6 Deployments

Surpassed 200 completed IPv6 assessments and deployments for Malaysian government and enterprises. Expanding into IoT/IoV6, 5G IPv6 integration, 6LoWPAN and smart city frameworks for the next decade.

IPv6 Across Every
Technology Frontier

From connected vehicles to constrained IoT sensors, IPv6 is the foundation of the next-generation internet. My6 Initiative doesn't just deploy these technologies — we've contributed to national and international standards that govern them.

IoT & IoV6 —
Connecting Every Device

IPv6 is the only protocol with a sufficient address space to connect the billions of IoT devices projected by 2030. The Internet of Vehicles (IoV6) leverages IPv6 for vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications.

My6 Initiative provides organisations with deployment frameworks, device provisioning guidance, and security hardening for IPv6-enabled IoT environments.

SLAAC & DHCPv6 — Stateless and stateful address auto-configuration for massive IoT deployments without manual intervention.
IoV6 (Internet of Vehicles) — IPv6-based vehicle networking enabling real-time fleet management, autonomous driving support and smart transport systems.
Smart City Integration — IPv6 backbone for Malaysia's smart city initiatives including smart meters, surveillance, and public infrastructure.
Edge Computing — Leveraging IPv6 multicast and anycast for distributed edge IoT processing with ultra-low latency.

6LoWPAN —
IPv6 for Constrained Devices

IPv6 over Low-Power Wireless Personal Area Networks (6LoWPAN) enables IPv6 communication on devices with severe resource constraints — battery-powered sensors in agriculture, industrial control, and healthcare.

My6 Initiative provides expertise in 6LoWPAN network design, mesh topology planning, and integration with cloud IoT platforms.

Header Compression — Reduces 40-byte IPv6 headers to as few as 2 bytes using IPHC (RFC 6282), critical for 802.15.4 frames.
Mesh Networking — Multi-hop routing using RPL (RFC 6550) for robust, self-healing sensor networks over large areas.
Fragmentation & Reassembly — Handling IPv6's minimum MTU of 1280 bytes over 802.15.4's 127-byte frames.
Thread & Zigbee IP — Malaysian smart home and industrial IoT deployments using 6LoWPAN-based Thread protocol stack.

5G & Mobile
IPv6 Deployment

5G network architecture is natively IPv6-designed. The 3GPP 5G SA (Standalone) core mandates IPv6 support, while Malaysian telcos deploy dual-stack 5G networks requiring careful IPv6 planning at the RAN, Core and Service layer.

5G SA Core IPv6 — 3GPP Release 15+ mandates IPv6 addressing in the 5G service layer; our experts assist with UPF and SMF IPv6 configuration.
PD (Prefix Delegation) — DHCPv6-PD for distributing /56 and /60 prefixes to customer edge devices in broadband and 5G Fixed Wireless Access.
Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6) — Seamless handoffs for connected vehicles and mission-critical devices moving across IPv6 networks.
CLAT/464XLAT — IPv4-as-a-Service over IPv6-only 5G networks for backward-compatible device support.

IPv6 Security —
Threats & Hardening

IPv6 introduces new attack vectors that many organisations overlook during transition. My6 Initiative provides specialised security assessments and hardening guides specific to IPv6 environments.

ICMPv6 & NDP Security — RA Guard, SEND (Secure Neighbor Discovery), and DAD proxies to prevent rogue RA and NDP spoofing attacks.
Extension Header Filtering — Firewall policies to properly handle IPv6 extension headers and prevent evasion attacks.
Tunnel Security — Securing 6in4, Teredo, and ISATAP tunnels to prevent dual-stack bypass attacks on corporate networks.
Address Privacy (RFC 8981) — Temporary addresses and privacy extensions to limit device tracking in IPv6 environments.

Emerging IPv6
Technologies

The IPv6 ecosystem continues to evolve rapidly. My6 Initiative tracks and pilots the latest IETF developments and emerging use cases relevant to Malaysia's digital future.

SRv6 (Segment Routing v6) — Programmable network paths using IPv6 extension headers; adopted by major Malaysian ISPs for traffic engineering.
IPv6-Only Networks — Deploying IPv6-only enterprise campuses and data centres with CLAT/NAT64 for IPv4 legacy access.
QUIC over IPv6 — HTTP/3 and QUIC protocol performance advantages on native IPv6 connections versus IPv4/NAT environments.
Deterministic Networking — DetNet over IPv6 for industrial automation, process control and time-sensitive networking in Malaysian factories.

MCMC AUTHORIZED AUDITOR

IPv6 Service Compliance Audit Report (SCAR)

My6 Initiative Berhad is engaged by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to conduct independent IPv6 Service Compliance Audits — formally documented as Service Compliance Audit Reports (SCAR) — on licensed telecommunications and internet service providers in Malaysia. These audits verify that service providers meet the mandatory IPv6 dual-stack deployment requirements set by MCMC, covering mobile, broadband, and enterprise service categories across all regions of Malaysia.

7 Mandatory SCAR Test Categories

Each SCAR engagement covers the full spectrum of dual-stack IPv6 service verification — from address assignment and reachability through to performance benchmarking and route-path analysis.

T-01
Dual-Stack Ping Tests

ICMP echo-request tests to key global and Malaysian domains over both IPv4 and IPv6 — including google.com, facebook.com, youtube.com, mampu.gov.my, skmm.gov.my, my6.my and yahoo.com — measuring round-trip latency in milliseconds.

T-02
Web-Based IPv6 Accessibility & Connectivity

Browser-based IPv6 capability verification via tools including test-ipv6.com, ipv6-test.com, whatismyv6.com, traceroute6.net, kame.net, ipv6test.google.com, ipv6forum.com, and ip6tools.com.

T-03
Dual-Stack Website Connectivity

Verification that the Tester Node (TN) successfully connects to major dual-stack websites over IPv6 — including apple.com, microsoft.com, arin.net, apnic.net, afrinic.com, ripe.net, lacnic.net, ietf.org, nro.net, and itu.int.

T-04
Website Access Latency Tests

Comparative page-load latency measurement for both IPv4 and IPv6 paths to standard target sites, identifying any performance delta between protocol versions and flagging CAVEAT conditions where IPv6 access is unavailable.

T-05
Dual-Stack Speed Tests (Upload & Download)

Web-based throughput benchmarking via speedtest.net, speedtest.xfinity.com, ipv6-test.com/speedtest, ipv6-speedtest.net, speedtest6.com, fast.com, speedtest.dslreports.com, and sod.ms/fast — reporting Mbps per protocol.

T-06
DNS Resolving Test (NameBench)

Dual-stack DNS performance benchmarking using the NameBench tool — measuring average query resolution time (ms) for 250 domains from Alexa's top domain list against the service provider's IPv4 and IPv6 DNS resolvers.

T-07
Dual-Stack Traceroute Tests

Network path analysis via traceroute over both IPv4 and IPv6 to google.com, facebook.com, youtube.com, mampu.gov.my, skmm.gov.my, wikipedia.org, and thinkbroadband.com download endpoints — reporting hop counts per path.
